Cultivating Heritage Through Cultural Farming

Ending Food Waste with Cultural Farming
Many immigrant families in the USA receive free food that they don’t recognize or know how to cook. That food often goes to waste, and so does the opportunity for good nutrition.
Roots & Harvest by ACMIN is changing that. We help immigrant communities grow traditional crops, learn culturally relevant cooking, and reconnect with their heritage one garden at a time.

Why This Matters

When immigrant families arrive in the U.S., they often rely on food banks or community centers for support. But these donations frequently include items they don’t recognize or know how to use. The result?

  • Wasted food

  • Missed nutrition

  • Loss of cultural connection

We’re changing that by building community gardens, offering free farming training, and hosting cooking workshops using both familiar and donated ingredients.
